I think what he teaches is important for every skill level
Mostly self-taught player here - Dustin's course made me feel like I had the coach Ive always wanted. The well-structured course and unique tips and tricks from a world class volleyball player meant I saw some improvement fairly quickly throughout my games. Hoping to apply those skills further and this course holds up in the long run!
I was excited to get Dustin’s insights in the Digging Course but was a bit disappointed to discover there was no video content with Dustin breaking down the skills up close and personal or any drill recommendations that might “regroove” the muscle memory for new skills.
While I do like the film breakdowns, the videos are taken from the end of the court and the specific skills being deployed are not always readily discernible from this “old guy’s” eyes.
Overall, it’s a great start but could be improved with some traditional, focused skill breakdowns.
Hey Mike, the 'technical course' was supposed to be paired with this one course but due to covid, we lost the ability to access a gym and shoot the footage. Since then, the course has been filmed and just has to be edited. Have a great day my brother
First of all the whole course is very clear and simple to understand, however you should rewatch it couple of times to catch all of small tips and details. Last season was my first year playing libero after swtiching from otuside after 12 years and I struggled a lot with playing defense on hard cross. Videos allows you to take a look at digging from new perspective, which starts to be more common all over the World. While Olympics this year, we could see plenty of scoops, one arm digs and unusual style digs. Dustin clearly explain how to create more space with your hips and better angle on platform. Example tapes of plays are very helpful and make easier to understand the theory. Because of the course, I became a better defeneder, thank you Dusty ;)
It's awesome to see the perspective of an elite libero, it helped me to try things another way and to handle some situations better than I did before.
